JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawai'i

If you’re looking to stay far away from Waikiki and want luxury, this is the place. The rooms are nicely sized and very well appointed. The bathrooms have deep soaking tubs, separate showers and two vanities. Bathrooms seem a specialty here as the Ihilani Suite has the one of largest Jacuzzi bathtubs we’ve ever seen. But it’s truly the surroundings that make this property a real winner. The resort oozes a luxurious, tropical feel. The main pool can get crowded, and since they share Ko Olina lagoon with Aulani Disney Resort, that too is now more crowded. Rooms with views overlooking the lagoon (the higher, the better) are utterly fantastic and worth the upgrade if you can swing it. (Ocean view rooms facing north are nice but not nearly as droolable.) Southeast facing rooms have a view of the large Aulani Disney Resort.
Their Ihilani Spa is well-appointed and has a variety of special treatments that will melt your tensions away. If you’re hungry during your day at the spa, they’ll even provide room service on a patio.
There’s a meandering pond with manta rays and sharks cruising around—a nice touch—and a “Reef and Ray Adventure” for kids where they get in the pond and touch the rays.
Valet or self-parking is $35. Coffee makers upon request, and laundry is valet only. Rooms (515–555 sq. ft.) are $545–$850. Suites (1,069–4,000 sq. ft.) are $950–$7,000. That price feels too high to us. We hope you got a good discount.
