Hawaii's tourism and hospitality industry is showing signs of a strong comeback and Disney's Aulani Resort & Spa is gearing up for a busy summer.
"We have been really fortunate as a resort since we opened a little over six months ago to experience very high occupancy and with that we are making plans to align ourselves with what's happening in the visitor industry," says recruitment manager, Lianne Maeda.
Aulani officials say they are looking to hire hundreds of new employees for all departments.
"For food and beverage, housekeeping, front office, bell and valet services and also we are in need of licensed massage therapists and hair and nail technicians for our spa," Maeda says.
Potential cast members are encouraged to apply online before May 5 and if you are bilingual this could help your chances of scoring a job.
"One of the things we are also looking for, and this is across the board for all roles, the ability for our cast members to have fluency in the Japanese language.," Maeda says.
Cast members and servers in the 'Olelo Room are required to have near fluency in Hawaiian language.
So far the resort has hired 1,200 people since its opening last August.
Because of the summer push, entrants who get their applications in within the next week will have their paperwork expedited and Aulani officials say to expect even more job openings to come.
"We still have one more phase to open at the end of the year, so as you can imagine as we are in phase two right now we will continue to have hiring needs throughout the year," Maeda says.
