Hawaii's most romantic place

The 642-acre Ko Olina Resort, about 40 minutes' drive from Honolulu, hosts three resorts, including the romance-centric JW Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina Resort & Spa and Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club. There's plenty to do out here — from surfing, sailing and fishing to yoga, beachcombing and spa treatments.

But for the committed seeking to recommit, the resort holds an annual beachfront Valentine's Day vow renewal at one of the scallop-shaped swimming lagoons. Up to 100 couples attend the free, nondenominational event each year, after which festivities continue in resort restaurants such as Monkeypod Kitchen, Roy's Ko Olina and Sushi Yuzu.
