FlightScope has landed at the Ko Olina Golf Academy
A couple of weeks ago, a FlightScope Xi+ launch monitor landed on my desk. This state-of-the-art Doppler radar launch monitor will track your golf ball as it flies through the air, as well as detect your golf club as it passes through the impact area. (The integral components of the monitor were designed to track missiles off warships, so tracking your golf ball over a few hundred yards is child’s play for it!)
The data transferred wirelessly to a tablet will then give our trained club fitters the information needed to properly tune a set of irons and woods to your swing. The FlightScope’s data set includes: club head speed; ball speed; smash factor; launch angle; spin rate; carry distance; total distance; side deviation.
When we fit clubs, we look at several different parameters – head style; shaft flex; shaft weight; shaft kick point; shaft length; lie angle; loft; and grip size - to find the best possible combination for your game.
The Ko Olina Golf Academy has recently doubled its inventory of club fitting options by adding Mizuno and Nike to its original stable of Taylormade and Titleist fitting systems, giving the consumer a wider variety of options for their new set.
If you are interested in seeing what the latest technology can do to improve your game, click here for our Club Fitting Web Page, call (808) 676-5300 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an appointment or for more details.
We are the only facility on Oahu that offers public access to an outdoor Doppler radar launch monitor!
