Ko Olina Charities is a 501 (c) (3) organization created by Ko Olina as part of its efforts to expand community participation and outreach to West O‘ahu residents.
Ko Olina Charities’ goal is to provide resources, donations and opportunities for charitable and educational programs in the surrounding communities. Since its inception, the organization has assisted with on-the-job training opportunities, developed and subsidized community outreach programs, provided educational opportunities for the youth of immediate and surrounding communities, sponsored West O‘ahu community events and worked to protect the environment.
With donations from resort operators and residents, public donations and grants from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, Ko Olina Charities is able to continue its efforts to assist O‘ahu’s growing leeward community.
Ko Olina Charities' annual Ko Olina Thanksgiving Outreach serves more than 4,000 holiday meals for homeless and low-income families throughout the region. Ko Olina Charities also supports numerous community events and organizations including Waianae High School’s Searider Productions and Robotics Program, the ‘Olelo Youth Xchange video competition, Links for Literacy, the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii and NFL Youth Education Town (YET), educational and job training programs for West O‘ahu adults and youth and various homeless initiatives and emergency shelters on the leeward coast.
